Pampa Orgánica

The story begins in Montecarlo, Misiones, Argentina, a colony then mostly inhabited by German immigrants who had come in search of fertile land for cultivation, to which they dedicated themselves wholeheartedly. The main crops at that time were mainly corn, tobacco, and cassava, and in 1926, they started cultivating yerba mate.

At the beginning of the century, the only means of communication was the Paraná River, and boats were the only way to travel to the cities and transport the products they produced.
The marketing of the harvests became increasingly difficult, and the farmers decided to unite on July 24, 1930, under cooperative principles, understanding that this was the only way to progress. Thus, they founded the Cooperativa Agrícola Mixta de Monte Carlo Limitada. With this purpose, they prioritized the construction and organization of a general store and later a yerba mate drying facility. Since then, and thanks to the values of our ancestors, our institution proudly practices the principles of cooperation.

Today, the Cooperativa Agrícola Mixta de Monte Carlo Limitada has over 800 active members, mostly small-scale producers. Its main activities include the production, processing, and marketing of yerba mate and cassava starch. Additionally, it owns supermarkets and gas stations and is involved in the collection and sale of wood for the cellulose industry. It is also a sales agent for one of the country's most important insurance companies.

Yerba Mate PAMPA ORGÀNICA is produced following the principles of sustainable agriculture, respecting nature and humans, and cultivated and processed without the use of chemicals. A premium product with organic certification.
