This is a modern argentinean mate-cup made of glass
The glass gourd has a big opening for simple filling in of the tea and the drinking straw (bombilla).
The inner of the cup is made of glass, externally its covered with leather. The upper part is surrounded with metal. Simple and ideal for the daily use.
The colour of the leather may differ from the photo.
Traditionally the yerba will be drunk out of a gourd (Calabaza). The mate-cup made of glass is a very good alternative solution for those who like to drink their tea from a cup which is easier to clean. It must not be prepared for the first use and keeps the origin taste of the yerba.
Please make sure not to pour water up to the top edge when filling the Calabaza, as the metal ring is only placed on and not waterproof. Otherwise, this could lead to damage to the cup.
This mate cup is not dishwasher safe.
